Job summary

Fresh Perspective Resourcing in Lancashire is seeking a Senior Accountant for a hybrid role with one day in the office per week in Bury. The position offers flexible hours and a friendly, collaborative team.

You will manage a client portfolio, prepare year‑end statements, handle tax queries, and oversee payroll, providing strategic financial advice on tax planning, budgeting and cash flow. Strong UK tax/compliance knowledge and familiarity with Xero and QuickBooks are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 4 AAT qualification or ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Experience in an accountancy practice is highly desirable.
• Confidence managing your own client portfolio and building strong client relationships.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include...

• Act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients, managing all accounting matters
• Prepare year-end financial statements, handle tax queries and ensure compliance
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure regulatory compliance
• Provide strategic financial advice on tax planning, budgeting, and cash flow
• VAT prepare and submit VAT returns, corporation tax, and personal tax filings
• Mentor junior staff, offering guidance, reviewing work, and supporting their development

We are looking for a Senior Accountant with the following skills and experience...

• A minimum Level 4 AAT qualification or ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification
• Experience working in an accountancy practice role is massively desirable
• Confidence managing your own client portfolio and building strong client relationships
• Good working knowledge of UK accounts, tax and compliance requirements
• Familiar with accounting software such as Xero and QuickBooks, along with strong Excel skills
• Driven, ambitious, team player and hungry to learn, develop your career and bring new ideas

In return, the successful Senior Accountant will receive a salary of £35,000 - £45,000, plus the following benefits...
