Job summary

You will manage a diverse client portfolio and deliver high-quality accounting and advisory services, building strong client relationships and providing value-added insights.

The role focuses on year-end and management accounts, tax compliance, VAT, and ensuring deadlines are met in a client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience in an accountancy practice.

Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a well-established accountancy practice located in the Harrow area, that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Accountant to join its growing team.

You will work closely with a varied portfolio of clients, providing a broad range of accounting and advisory services while developing strong client relationships.

The Role

As Senior Accountant, you will take responsibility for managing a portfolio of clients and delivering high-quality accounting services. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing year-end accounts for a range of clients, including limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Preparing management accounts and financial information.
• Supporting clients with tax compliance and general accounting matters.
• Preparing VAT returns and other relevant financial submissions.
• Managing client deadlines and ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
• Providing accounting advice and identifying opportunities to add value to clients.
• Reviewing work and supporting junior members of the team.
• Working closely with colleagues across the practice to deliver a high standard of client service.

The Person

We are looking for an experienced accountant who is confident working within an accountancy practice and enjoys developing strong relationships with clients.

You will ideally have:

• 2 years' experience working within an accountancy practice.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Experience preparing accounts for a variety of clients.
• Good knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.
• AAT, ACCA or ACA qualification, or be qualified by experience.
