A reputable accountancy practice in Greater London is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance and providing prositive advice. Candidates must be ACCA or ACA qualified with at least three years of experience in accountancy practice. The position offers a salary between £45,000 - £50,000, flexibility in working hours, and additional benefits including a pension and training opportunities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors.
  • Prepare and review year-end financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP.
  • Oversee and review client VAT returns.
  • Provide proactive business and financial advice to clients.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide feedback to junior team members.
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients.

Overview

Position: Senior Accountant

Location: Pinner, Harrow

Package: £45,000 - £50,000, 1 day a week WFH, excellent working culture

Working hours: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours a week, hours can be flexible

A fantastic opportunity has opened up within a long-standing Accountancy Practice in Harrow, who are experiencing continued growth, for a Senior Accountant to join their expanding team. If you are a qualified accountant, looking to establish themselves in a trusted practice, with genuine progression routes, then this could be the role for you

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to manage a portfolio of clients across accounts and tax, including owner managed businesses to blue chip corporations. The role will include compliance and advisory, and reviewing the work of juniors. It s a great opportunity to take the next step into future management.

Senior Accountant - Job Responsibilities
  • Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors, acting as the main point of contact and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services.
  • Statutory Accounts: Prepare and review year-end financial statements in compliance with UK GAAP and FRS 102, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting standards.
  • VAT Compliance: Oversee and review client VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and providing guidance on complex VAT matters.
  • Client Advisory: Provide proactive business and financial advice to clients, helping them make informed strategic and operational decisions.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior team members, offering feedback, support, and training to enhance their technical and professional development.
  • Business Development: Identify opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients and support the growth and development of the practice.
Senior Accountant - Job Requirements
  • Must be ACCA or ACA qualified - recent qualifications is advantageous. Exam qualified can be considered
  • Working knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
  • Minimum of 3 years working in accountancy practice
  • Able to comfortably commute to Harrow office
  • Excellent organisation, interpersonal, and communication skills
Salary & Benefits
  • Salary depending on experience, ranging from £45,000 - £50,000
  • Some working from home flexibility, but no more than 1 day a week
  • Flexible working hours, standard hours are 9am-5:30pm
