Job summary

Hollybank Trustees Ltd is seeking an experienced senior accountant to take ownership of a varied client portfolio and play a key role in growing the practice. You will manage client work from start to finish, maintain strong relationships, and mentor junior team members.

The role offers autonomy over workload, a chance to lead by example on quality and client service, and a long-term career path as the practice grows. Permanent, full-time, on-site role in Colwyn Bay.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for limited companies (FRS 102 Section 1A), sole traders, and partnerships
• Preparing corporation tax returns and self-assessment tax returns
• Handling VAT returns and advising on VAT treatment
• Managing files from start to finish, producing work for partner review with minimal rework
• Building strong client relationships, managing expectations, and communicating proactively
• Mentoring and supporting the development of junior team members
• Staying current with regulatory changes, including MTD for Income Tax
• Contributing to the practice's growth by identifying opportunities to add value for clients

You'll inherit an established portfolio of owner managed businesses across a wide range of sectors, acting as their main point of contact and trusted advisor. You'll manage your clients from start to finish. Day to day, that means:

• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for limited companies (FRS 102 Section 1A), sole traders, and partnerships
• Preparing corporation tax returns and self-assessment tax returns
• Handling VAT returns and advising on VAT treatment
• Managing your files from start to finish, producing work that is ready for partner review with minimal rework
• Building strong client relationships, managing expectations, and communicating proactively
• Mentoring and supporting the development of junior team members
• Staying current with regulatory changes, including MTD for Income Tax
• Contributing to the practice's growth by identifying opportunities to add value for clients

This is a senior, hands-on role. You'll have autonomy over your workload and direct client relationships, and we'll look to you to lead by example on quality and client service.
