Job description

A well-established Chichester, West Sussex based accountancy practice is currently seeking an experienced Semi Senior / Senior Accountant to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will assist in managing a portfolio of clients, primarily owner-managed businesses, preparing year-end accounts, tax returns, and providing regular advice on tax and other financial matters. The role also involves producing management accounts while adhering to deadlines and delivering excellent service. Experience with Xero and a good understanding of management accounts and corporation tax provisions are essential.

Senior Accountant Job Overview

• Managing a client portfolio in a highly client-facing role
• Preparing statutory and year-end accounts
• Handling personal and business tax returns
• Advising on and resolving tax-related issues
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Producing monthly and quarterly management accounts
• Assisting with ad hoc accounting tasks such as P11Ds and ATED submissions
• Collaborating with team members to maintain high standards and efficiency

Senior Accountant Job Requirements

• AAT qualified (preferred) or working towards ACA/ACCA
• Experience in an accountancy practice (ideally 2-3 years)
• Proficiency with Xero, Dext, Sage, and QuickBooks
• Experience preparing management accounts for diverse clients
• Must be a driver living within a commutable distance of Chichester, West Sussex
• Strong IT skills, including MS Office (Excel and Word)
