Job summary

Propel Consult is seeking a Senior Accountant for a family-owned accountancy practice in Blaby, Leicestershire. You will join a friendly, supportive team and service a varied client portfolio while building long-term professional relationships.

The role offers a 33-hour week (Mon-Thu 9:00am-4:45pm, Fri 9:00am-4:00pm), on-site parking, pension, study support and 25 days’ leave plus bank holidays. Salary £38,000–£42,000 with potential for growth.

Qualifications

• AAT qualified
• Minimum of four years' experience in an accountancy practice
• Proficient in Xero, Dext, QuickBooks and TaxCalc
• Experience preparing accounts for a varied client portfolio
• Strong VAT and tax compliance knowledge
• Excellent communication and client relationship management
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to other office locations in Leicestershire or client premises

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of business clients
• Produce management accounts and financial reports as required
• Prepare and review VAT returns in line with current regulations
• Assist with the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns
• Manage and develop client relationships, acting as a key point of contact
• Provide accounting and taxation advice to clients
• Review work completed by junior team members and provide guidance and support where required

• £38,000 - £42,000 per annum
• Monday to Thursday 9:00am to 4:45pm, Friday 9:00am to 4:00pm

Duties and responsibilities
