Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Account Director to join our team. As an Account Director, you will be responsible for establishing a book of new clients and managing renewal portfolios, providing quality service, and meeting client demands to achieve optimal profitable renewal retention and growth. How you'll make an impact
- Manage client, prospect, and introducer relationships; grow the book and existing accounts by providing appropriate insurance and risk management solutions.
- Negotiate with insurers to obtain terms that match customer requirements.
- Manage workload to effectively service client relationships and ensure placements are completed within deadlines.
- Keep client information and sales plans up to date.
- Provide realistic plans and forecasts on customer performance.
- Establish and manage a sales pipeline of potential clients.
- Analyze sales data to identify patterns and trends.
- Proactively seek commercial opportunities and partnerships.
- Promote and sell additional applications and services to clients.
- Identify new sources of profitable business, including cross-selling.
- Work closely with Account Handlers and Brokers to negotiate terms and conditions.
- Handle internal and external queries from colleagues or underwriters.
- Ensure premiums are paid according to credit control policies.
- Follow internal policies, procedures, laws, and regulations, focusing on client-centric service.
About You
Qualifications
- Cert CII/Dip CII/Advanced Dip CII (Chartered Insurance Institute qualifications) desirable.
- Educated to degree standard or equivalent is desirable.
Technical Knowledge
- Good knowledge of general insurance products, services, and classes, including legal principles and risk practices.
Experience
- Previous experience in an Account Executive or Broker role, comfortable with targets.
- Negotiation and influencing skills with stakeholders.
- Strong rapport-building abilities.
- Risk prioritization and workflow management skills.
- Knowledge of client markets and insurance networks.
- Ability to interpret information for growth opportunities.
