Job summary

Beagle Aircraft, based in Christchurch, is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to develop offline CNC programmes for 5-axis milling of precision aerospace components. You will use SolidCAM or CATIA V5 to create robust machining strategies and verify programs to production-ready standards.

Ideal candidates have time-served production engineering or CNC machining backgrounds, with strong offline programming experience and good tooling knowledge.

Qualifications

• Time-served production engineering or CNC machining background.
• Strong experience with offline CNC programming and CAM software.
• Experience programming 5-axis milling machines using SolidCAM.
• Understanding of machining methods, tooling and production engineering.
• Basic CAD modelling and drafting capability.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and translate requirements into programmes.
• Vericut experience; Fanuc controls advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Create and develop offline CNC programmes using SolidCAM or CATIA V5.
• Programme complex components for 5-axis CNC milling machines.
• Select appropriate tooling and machining strategies for efficient production.
• Verify CNC programmes using Vericut where applicable.
• Design basic fixtures and special workholding required for manufacture.
• Produce basic CAD models and engineering drawings for tooling.
• Work with Engineering and Manufacturing to resolve programming challenges.
• Support improvements to machining methods and production performance.
