Job summary

Wanstor Ltd is seeking a 3rd line Engineer to advance client IT services across partner sites from its London base. You’ll lead on proactive engineering, security practices, and high‑level technical support, driving forward complex projects while mentoring junior staff.

Ideal candidates have broader tech experience (Windows Server, VMware, Exchange, Office 365, Azure) and a proactive mindset, with the ability to work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Broad technical experience with Windows Server, VMware, Exchange, Office 365, SQL, Azure and AD.
• Networking knowledge including LAN, WAN, VPN, Firewall, routers, colocation and hybrid environments.
• Analytical thinking, root‑cause analysis and ability to understand system architecture.
• Strong written and verbal communication to build client relationships.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team with good time management.
• Creative problem solving and initiative; managed services background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Project work and design/implementation of IT solutions aligned to business needs.
• Proactive IT management with security improvements to Cyber Essentials standards.
• Technical support, service desk escalation, mentoring junior staff.
• Engage with customers to pre-emptively provide technical solutions and mitigate risks.
• Implement Windows Virtual Desktop, Zero Touch deployment, Azure AD, Office 365, MFA.
• Provide strategic IT management and leadership for customer objectives.
• 3rd line escalation including on-site support.
• Take ownership of tickets escalated from the service desk.
