Job summary

KPI Recruiting Ltd is seeking an experienced SENDCO/Teacher for an independent school in Kingston upon Thames, starting Easter 2027 or sooner. The role leads SEND strategy, coordinates support for SEND students, and collaborates with senior leaders, teachers, parents and external agencies to deliver high-quality provision.

You will develop, implement and review IEPs and EHCPs, deliver targeted interventions, assist with admissions and transition, and ensure compliance with SEND legislation while

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Honours degree; Master’s degree desirable.
• SENCO NPQ or equivalent SEND qualification.
• Minimum of three years' SEND experience.
• Experience coordinating examination access arrangements and reasonable adjustments.
• Strong knowledge of current SEND legislation and best practice.
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and external agencies.
• Passion for inclusive education and improving outcomes for young people.

Responsibilities

• Lead SEND strategy and provision for the school.
• Coordinate identification, assessment and support for students with SEND.
• Develop, implement and review IEPs, EHCPs, Action Plans and personalised learning programmes.
• Deliver targeted interventions through individual and small-group teaching.
• Support differentiation, scaffolding and inclusive classroom practice.
• Advise and train colleagues on SEND provision and strategies.
• Manage examination access arrangements and reasonable adjustments.
• Liaise with educational psychologists, speech and language therapists and other professionals.
• Work with parents, pastoral teams and safeguarding colleagues.
• Monitor progress, analyse data and evaluate SEND provision effectiveness.
• Support admissions and transition for students needing additional learning support.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to inspection and school improvement.
• Collaborate with Senior Leadership Team to enhance SEND strategy.
