Job summary

Seer Green CE School is seeking a passionate SEND leader to coordinate provision, support staff development and shape provision so every pupil can flourish in a small village primary setting.

The role focuses on leading SEND across the school, working with families, external agencies and governors to deliver high‑quality, inclusive provision within a nurturing environment. A SENDCo qualification is desirable, though proven experience and strategic mindset are valued.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status with primary experience.
  • Successful SENDCo background.
  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and Equality Act.
  • Experience collaborating with families, external agencies and governors.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and maintain day-to-day SEND provision and records.
  • Advise and support teachers using the graduated approach and implement interventions.
  • Be the key contact for parents/carers and external agencies, supporting EHCP processes.
  • Be responsible for completing ECHP applications and responding to consultations.
  • Oversee deployment and development of support staff, ensuring interventions are monitored.
  • Ensure duties under SEND Code of Practice and Equality Act are met and SEND policy is up to date.
  • Work with senior leaders and governors to report on SEND provision and to improve provision operationally and strategically.
