Job summary

Richmond Hill Academy in Leeds is seeking an inspirational Assistant SENDCo to support leadership and development of our SEND provision. You will work closely with the SENDCo to ensure high-quality support and strong academic and personal outcomes for pupils with SEND.

The role involves coordinating interventions, supporting statutory assessments, liaising with parents and external agencies, and helping lead the SEND team, notably within Rainbow Base.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• Demonstrated track record of achieving academic excellence.
• Strong understanding of SEND legislation and current practice.
• Experience implementing innovative learning approaches, esp. for ASD.
• Experience supporting pupils with complex needs in mainstream settings.
• Knowledge of EHCP assessment processes.
• Awareness of SEMH panel processes and needs of pupils.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate interventions for SEND pupils and oversee Rainbow Base provisions.
• Support statutory assessment processes and contribute to EHCP planning.
• Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies to secure outcomes.
• Lead and develop the SEND team and strategies for high-quality provision.
