Job summary

Kids Planet is seeking a SENDCO Lead at Great Boughton to drive inclusion for children with SEND. You’ll lead multi-agency collaboration with families and external partners, shaping bespoke support plans to help each child thrive.

You will champion safeguarding, Ofsted guidance, and strong EYFS practice, contributing to a compassionate, high-quality learning environment across our nursery.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 3 UK recognised early years qualification and have senior-level experience.
• Strong understanding of Ofsted requirements and safeguarding frameworks.
• Proven ability to design and monitor inclusive support for children with SEND.

Responsibilities

• Lead SENDCO responsibilities, collaborating with families, staff and external agencies.
• Develop and implement tailored support plans to meet each child’s needs.

How you'll make a difference as a SENDCO:

• By taking the lead in assisting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to engage fully in learning and reach their potential.
• Through leading collaboration with families, staff, and external agencies to design and implement tailored support plans that meet each child's needs.
• By taking responsibility for promoting an inclusive, nurturing environment where all children feel valued, supported, and able to thrive.

What a SENDCO needs:

• Must be at least Level 3 qualified in a UK recognised early years qualification and experience of working at a senior level.
• Have a detailed understanding of the requirements set by Ofsted.
• Excellent understanding of EYFS.
• Extensive knowledge of safeguarding children.
• Experience of working with children with SEND requirements.
• Experience of working in partnership with parents and outside agencies.
• Ability to demonstrate multi agency working and experience of leading staff meetings
