Job summary

SENse Learning is seeking passionate tutors to deliver one-to-one support for SEND learners across the UK. Roles include Specialist Teacher, Intervention Tutor, and SEND Tutor, with in-person, hybrid and remote options and flexible hours.

Applicants should have QTS/QTLS and at least 2 years of post-NQT teaching experience, ideally with SEND/SEMH; DBS and references are required. You will work as a self-employed tutor and help young people achieve education goals in a trauma-informed setting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years post-NQT teaching experience, ideally with SEND/SEMH/MLD/SLD/PMLD in trauma-informed settings.
• QTS / QTLS required to teach in the UK.
• Understanding of child-centred, holistic teaching approaches.
• Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong relationships with children and young people with SEND/SEMH needs.
• Provide in-person, online/remote, and hybrid tutoring tailored to EHCPs and risk assessments.
• Plan and report lessons; give regular feedback on progress.

SEND Tutor Role Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years of post-NQT teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
• Approach: Understanding of how to work in a child-centred, holistic way; you will have the ingenuity and creativity to make the curriculum work in an individual, student-centred way.
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
• Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote/online jobs
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment.

The SEND Tutor Role And Responsibilities

• Develop strong relationships with children and young people who have a range of needs and who have often experienced significant difficulties in previous education settings.
• Provide in person, online/remote, and hybrid support to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
• Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 – KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring tailored to the young persons needs, EHCP, and risk assessment
• Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
