Job summary

SENse Learning is hiring SEND teachers to deliver one-to-one support for students with SEND in homes, communities, and online. Roles span SEND Tutor, Intervention Tutor, and Specialist Teacher, with ongoing hiring and arrangements for interviews as applications are received.

We offer competitive pay (£35–£45 per hour), flexible schedules including in-person, hybrid, and remote options, and a supportive team focused on trauma-informed, student-centered outcomes for learners across the UK.

Qualifications

• 2+ years post-NQT teaching experience with SEND/SEMH/MLD/SLD/PMLD in a trauma-informed setting.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) required.
• Ability to deliver personalised, student-centered learning in a home/community setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop strong relationships with children and young people with diverse needs.
• Provide in-person, online/remote, and hybrid tutoring tailored to EHCPs and risk assessments.
• Plan and report lessons; give progress feedback to students and families.
• Deliver flexible, trauma-informed tutoring across KS1–KS5 as appropriate.

SEND Teacher Role Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years of post-NQT teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
• Approach: Understanding of how to work in a child-centred, holistic way; you will have the ingenuity and creativity to make the curriculum work in an individual, student-centred way.
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
• Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote/online jobs
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment.

The SEND Teacher Role And Responsibilities

• Develop strong relationships with children and young people who have a range of needs and who have often experienced significant difficulties in previous education settings.
• Provide in person, online/remote, and hybrid support to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
• Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 – KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring tailored to the young persons needs, EHCP, and risk assessment
• Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
