Job summary

SENSe Learning is seeking SEND Tutors to provide one-to-one support for young people with SEND across home, community and school settings in the UK. Roles are flexible with in-person, hybrid, and remote teaching opportunities available.

We require QTS/QTLS, 2+ years post-NQT teaching in SEND/SEMH/MLD/SLD, safeguarding knowledge, and an Enhanced DBS. Join our mission to raise education standards and support students with complex needs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years post-NQT teaching experience, ideally with SEND/SEMH/MLD/SLD/PMLD in a trauma-informed approach.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS.
• UK-based with the right to work; safeguarding knowledge and Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate).

Responsibilities

• Develop strong relationships with children and young people with SEND/SEMH needs.
• Provide in-person, online/remote, and hybrid tutoring tailored to EHCPs and risk assessments.
• Plan and report lessons; give regular feedback on student progress.
• Support pupils from KS1 to KS5 as appropriate and coordinate with parents, carers, or schools.

Our SEND Tutor roles allow you to provide one-to-one support for the most in-need young people, working across specialisms as a Specialist Teacher, Intervention Tutor, and SEND Teacher! SEND Tutor role requirements:

• Experience: 2+ years of post-NQT teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
• Approach: Understanding of how to work in a child-centred, holistic way; you will have the ingenuity and creativity to make the curriculum work in an individual, student-centred way.
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
• Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote/online jobs
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment.

The SEND Tutor role and responsibilities:

• Develop strong relationships with children and young people who have a range of needs and who have often experienced significant difficulties in previous education settings.
• Provide in person, online/remote, and hybrid support to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs.
• Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring tailored to the young person's needs, EHCP, and risk assessment.
• Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress.
