Job summary

Educare Recruitment is expanding its education team and is seeking passionate SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils with special educational needs in the Plymouth area. Roles include 1:1 support or small group work to help learners engage with education and achieve individual goals.

Ideal candidates will have experience in SEND, learning disabilities, autism or related support work, and be prepared to complete safeguarding checks and Enhanced DBS.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEND, learning disabilities, autism, challenging behaviour or complex needs.
• Previous school experience is advantageous.
• Ability to complete safeguarding and DBS checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs.
• Support pupils in small groups to engage with learning.
• Assist in classroom activities and manage behaviour positively.
• Work with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to support learners.

Educare Recruitment is expanding its education team and is looking for passionate and reliable SEND Teaching Assistants to work across Plymouth.

We have a growing number of opportunities supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within schools and specialist education settings.

If you have experience within education, SEND, learning disabilities, autism, mental health or support work, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you may be supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, helping them engage with education and achieve their individual goals.

Your role may include:

• Providing 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs
• Supporting children with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities and complex needs
• Helping pupils engage with classroom activities
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
• Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and other education professionals
• Encouraging independence, confidence and communication
• Providing a safe, supportive and positive learning environment
