Job summary

Keys Education is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant for Oaklands Manor in Buxton. You will support teaching and learning for pupils with complex needs, under teacher guidance, and promote pupil wellbeing and achievement.

We value trauma-informed approaches, strong commitment to SEND, and reliability in a role within a therapeutic educational setting. DBS checks apply and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience minimum working in a SEND environment or similar unit/provision.
• A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist pupils with learning activities under teacher guidance.
• Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development using trauma-informed approaches.
• Help manage behaviour in line with school policy and Staff Code of Conduct.
• Encourage pupil engagement and independence in learning tasks.
• Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of resources.
• Support record-keeping and monitoring of pupil progress as directed.
• Help maintain a clean, safe learning environment.
