Job summary

Orchard Manor School is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism and communication needs. You will help with learning, social and emotional development, often in small groups or one-to-one under teacher guidance.

Role includes outdoor learning, educational visits and supporting pupils with personal care when trained. DBS checks and safeguarding compliance are required.

Responsibilities

• Help pupils develop learning, communication and social skills.
• Build positive, nurturing relationships with pupils.
• Work with small groups or individual pupils under teaching staff guidance.
• Help create structured, engaging learning experiences.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and wellbeing.
• Help keep the learning environment calm, safe and inclusive.
• Support pupils with personal care and medical needs where trained.
• Deliver interventions and therapeutic programmes under guidance.
• Work with teachers, families and wider professionals.
• Support pupils during outdoor learning, enrichment and educational visits.
• Support pupils with communication, sensory, social, emotional and learning needs across the school's pathways
