Job summary

Orchard Manor School in Dawlish is seeking caring Teaching Assistants to join our specialist team supporting pupils aged 3-19 with autism and related needs. You will work with Teachers and professionals to create positive learning experiences and help pupils thrive socially, emotionally and academically.

Ideal candidates bring warmth, patience and a genuine passion for SEND. The role involves small-group or 1:1 support, personal care when needed, and supporting outdoor learning and enrichment

Qualifications

• Caring, adaptable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants sought.
• Support pupils with learning, communication and social development.
• Experience with SEND is advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with learning, communication and social development.
• Build positive, nurturing relationships with pupils.
• Assist with small groups or 1:1 under guidance.
• Help create engaging and structured learning experiences.
• Support emotional wellbeing and safe, inclusive environment.
• Assist with personal care and medical needs when required.
• Deliver interventions and therapeutic programmes under guidance.
• Collaborate with teachers, families and professionals.
• Support pupils during outdoor learning, enrichment and visits.
