Job summary

Axcis Education is recruiting a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream school in Stratford-upon-Avon. You will support children and young people with SEND, working 1:1 or in small groups to access learning, build confidence and develop social skills in an inclusive setting.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, personal care where required, and collaborating with teachers and SENDCOs to meet individual needs. Immediate start available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND or additional needs.
• Patient, resilient and empathetic approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small group settings.
• Assist pupils in accessing learning activities across the curriculum.
• Encourage communication, social interaction, emotional development and independence.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Promote engagement, confidence and participation in school life.
• Follow classroom routines, transitions and behaviour expectations.
