Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking experienced SEND Teaching Assistants for a primary school in Selhurst, Croydon, starting September 2026. You will support pupils with a range of additional needs within a SEND Hub, helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing environment.

The role requires caring, patient and collaborative individuals who can work closely with teachers and specialists to implement individual development plans and strategies to boost learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children with SEND within a school or educational setting.
• A caring, patient, and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and support their individual needs.
• Genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality support to pupils with SEND needs through tailored activities and 1:1 or small group sessions.
• Support learning and reinforce accessible teaching strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENDCo, and other staff on pupil development plans.
• Promote pupil confidence, independence, communication and wellbeing.
• Help create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
