Teaching Personnel Ltd. in Burnley is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision.

The role supports pupils with social, communication and interaction needs in a nurturing environment, helping them reintegrate into mainstream lessons when ready. The contract begins ASAP and runs long-term with potential to become permanent, offering term-time hours from 8:15am to 3:15pm, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• Patient, nurturing and resilient in their approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.
• Committed to the role for the duration of the placement.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with social, communication and interaction needs within a specialist classroom.
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider SEND team to deliver personalised learning and intervention programmes.
• Create a calm, positive and supportive environment where children feel safe, valued and ready to learn.
• Encourage engagement, confidence, independence and positive social interactions.
• Build strong relationships with pupils to support academic progress and emotional wellbeing.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff for future planning.
