Job summary

Unique School Solutions is assisting a large secondary school in the S35 area of Sheffield to recruit an SEND Teaching Assistant for the SEND unit. You will support students aged 11-16, working with peers and staff to provide educational and pastoral support. The role starts ASAP and could become permanent after 12 weeks.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, term-time only. The pay is £115 per day, with a pathway to permanent employment for the right candidate and access to extensive training

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working with young adults aged 11-16.
• Previous SEND experience.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• The ability to build rapport with young people whilst remaining professional and maintaining behaviour rules.
• Resilient nature.

Responsibilities

• Support students across Key Stages 3 & 4 in the SEND unit.
• Provide educational and pastoral support to students.
• Work alongside the resource teacher and other teaching assistants to deliver support.
