Job description

Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join a well-established and inclusive secondary school in the Muswell Hill area. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a dedicated SEND department, supporting students with a range of special educational needs to overcome barriers to learning and thrive in their education. We are looking for someone who is calm, friendly, and proactive, with a strong commitment to helping young people achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing one-to-one and small group support to some of the school’s most vulnerable students. Key Responsibilities: Support students with additional and special educational needs in and out of the classroom Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals Use initiative and adaptability to respond to the needs of students and the wider school Advocate for students and challenge where appropriate to support their development Adapt flexibly to changes in day-to-day priorities Ideal Candidate Will: Have previous experience working with children or young people with SEND Be confident, professional, and able to build strong relationships Be resilient and tenacious in supporting student progress and wellbeing Be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced secondary school environment This Role Offers: A supportive and welcoming working environment Opportunities for professional development and ongoing CPD Full-time hours (36 per week, Mon–Fri, term-time only) All applicants must have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one through Axcis. Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
