Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant for a welcoming primary school in the Glossop area. The role involves 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND and additional learning needs, working closely with the SEND team and class teacher to foster a positive learning environment.

The ideal candidate will have prior SEND experience in a primary setting, a Level 2 TA qualification or higher, and a patient, nurturing approach with a strong safeguarding focus.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with additional needs in a school setting.
• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher is beneficial.
• Patience and nurturing approach with children.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils.
• Support academic, social and emotional development.
• Work with class teacher and SEND team for consistent support.
• Help create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
