Job summary

Moorside Primary School and Nursery in Ripon is seeking a suitably qualified Teaching Assistant (SEND) to join the team. The role includes 32.5 hours per week (Term Time Only) with lunchtime responsibilities, fixed-term until 31 July 2027, at Band CD, points 6 and above.

The successful candidate will have experience with children, flexibility across Early Years to Year 6, and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusion. DBS and references required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, ideally in a school or similar setting.
• Able to work with children across Early Years to Year 6.
• Flexible and able to adapt to different age groups, classrooms and duties.
• Caring, patient, nurturing approach.
• Willing to undertake personal-care duties and support children with physical needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; works well in a team.
• Reliable, responsible and able to use initiative.
• Committed to inclusion and enabling all children to participate fully.
• Willing to undertake relevant training in moving and handling, personal care, and specialist equipment.
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.

Responsibilities

• Support children across the primary age range, from Early Years to Year 6.
• Assist with personal-care duties and moving/handling as required.
• Provide lunchtime supervision and support where needed.
• Work as part of the school team to help children access learning.
• Support safeguarding and wellbeing of pupils in line with school policy.
