Job summary

Tudhoe Moor Nursery School in Spennymoor is seeking a confident, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years Team. The post is temporary until 31 August 2027, full-time, 8.30am–4.30pm (until 5.00pm Wednesdays), term-time with additional pay for holidays and CPD.

Applicants should have at least five years’ nursery setting experience, support pupils with additional needs, and hold a qualifying Early Years credential. DBS check will be enhanced prior to appointment.

Qualifications

• DBS check will be enhanced prior to appointment.
• Experience of working in Early Years with children who have additional needs is essential.
• Must hold a qualification that meets the approved ‘full and relevant’ criteria for Early Years qualifications and inclusion in staffing ratios.
• Ability to converse at ease with customers and provide accurate spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside pupils in the three and four year old room.
• Be a key worker for a group of children.
• Support the Inclusion aims and assist in other areas of the classroom as needed.
