Job summary

Classroom Recruiters is seeking dedicated 1:1 Nurture Tutors to support young people with SEND. Roles typically run 9am–3pm, 3–5 days per week, with long-term placements across an academic year.

You may work at home or in community settings, driving to learners’ homes or learning centres as needed. Ideal candidates bring patience, adaptability and a nurturing approach, plus strong communication skills and a valid UK driving licence.

Classroom Recruiters are looking for passionate and experienced individuals to become 1:1 Nurture Tutors, supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

This is a fantastic opportunity for people who enjoy building positive relationships, providing tailored support and helping young people who may struggle to access mainstream education.

The Role

• Pay: Up to £22.50 per hour.
• Hours: Typically between 9am and 3pm, offering reduced working hours and a great work-life balance.
• Days: 3-5 days per week.
• Long-Term Placement: You will be placed with a young person for the whole academic year, allowing you to build a strong, consistent relationship. Placements may continue year on year, providing the opportunity to make a lasting difference.
• 1:1 Support: Build trusting relationships with young people and provide individualised support based on their needs.
• Community-Based Learning: You must be able to drive and have access to your own vehicle, as you may need to collect children from their homes and transport them to local learning centres or community settings.
• Home-Based Learning: In some cases, you may deliver sessions directly from the young person's home.
• Personal Development: Help children develop their confidence, engagement, social skills and readiness to learn.

You will also need:

• Experience supporting children or young people, ideally those with SEND or additional needs.
• A patient, adaptable and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to education.
