Job summary

Mary Elliot Academy seeks an outstanding Level 2 Teaching Assistant with SEND experience to support pupils aged 11–18 who have severe and profound learning needs. You will work alongside teaching staff to deliver education and provide specialist skills as appropriate.

The role requires fluent English, and the successful candidate will contribute to the pupils' development, health and wellbeing, and access to the curriculum in a supportive, inclusive environment within Thrive Education

Qualifications

• Good numeracy and literacy skills.
• Ability to fulfil spoken English requirements with confidence.
• Experience supporting pupils with special educational needs.

Responsibilities

• Support for pupils individually or in groups.
• Establish and maintain relationships with pupils and groups.
• Support pupils during learning activities, including hydrotherapy pool where appropriate.
• Promote social and emotional development and wellbeing.
• Provide support for bilingual/multilingual pupils when relevant.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining the learning environment and records.
