Job summary

The Supply Register Ltd. is recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants for Lightcliffe Academy in Halifax to support students with additional learning needs on a long-term basis.

You will work with teachers to deliver tailored interventions, provide 1:1 and small group support, promote inclusive learning and help students access goals in a safe, supportive environment.

Opportunities available immediately and from September 2026, with DBS and right to work requirements noted.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in education or SEND settings.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy and a positive attitude.
• Ability to build strong relationships and inspire confidence in young people.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEND both in and out of the classroom.
• Work with teachers to deliver tailored learning and intervention activities.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students achieve learning goals.
• Promote positive behaviour and student engagement.
• Help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Support social, emotional and academic development.
