Job summary

Rosebery School in Epsom seeks a Teaching Assistant to join the SEND team, supporting learning, social and emotional development, and independence for students. You will work closely with teaching colleagues to provide timely assistance and maintain well-organised learning environments.

The role involves supervising breaks/visits and delivering therapy/care programmes as arranged with external agencies. A collaborative, empathetic team player is essential for student success.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people, ideally with those with SEN.
• An empathetic communicator who is able to develop positive relationships with students and adults.
• An ability to scaffold students’ learning.
• Commitment to the process of learning.
• A positive role model who is able to stay calm and objective.
• A team player who genuinely believes every child can succeed.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality and timely support to students in learning and development across independent learning and metacognitive skills.
• Assist with supporting student educational visits, break and lunchtimes supervision.
• Deliver therapy and/or care programmes designed by external agencies as required.
