Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs in a school environment in Ealing, Greater London. You will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to ensure tailored support that helps students access the curriculum and make progress.

Responsibilities include one-to-one or small-group support for pupils with SEND (ASC, ADHD, SEMH or other learning needs), assisting with IEPs and behaviour plans, helping with classroom activities,

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with SEND in schools or care settings.
  • Strong communication and behaviour-management skills.
  • Patience, empathy and a proactive approach.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to pupils with SEND, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties.
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
  • Support pupils with classroom activities, ensuring they remain engaged and on task.
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
  • Adapt learning materials to meet the needs of individual pupils.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and external professionals.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and report concerns to the class teacher or SENCO.
  • Support pupils with personal care needs if required.
