Job summary

Woodfield School is seeking enthusiastic Classroom Teaching Assistants to join our supportive team. You will support pupils with learning needs in class, individually and in small groups, adapting to different needs and helping with wellbeing and positive behaviour.

Working closely with teachers, you will share observations, contribute to safeguarding, and help pupils develop confidence, independence and life skills for adulthood at our specialist secondary and Post-16 provision.

Qualifications

  • Patient, positive and committed to helping young people with SEND succeed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly within a team.
  • Clear communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • A calm, consistent approach to supporting pupils.
  • High expectations and a willingness to learn.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills evidenced by GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or above, or equivalent qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils' learning in class, individually and in small groups.
  • Adapt support to pupils' different learning and communication needs.
  • Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.
  • Support engagement, wellbeing and positive behaviour.
  • Share observations about pupils' progress with the teaching team.
  • Work flexibly across classes and activities as pupils' needs and staffing requirements change.
