Job summary

Whitefield Primary Academy, part of The Pioneer Learning Trust, is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with special educational needs. The role runs 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, term time only, with a salary in the range stated.

The post is a temporary named child contract. The successful candidate will be calm, patient and flexible, capable of employing various interventions to support pupil welfare and learning.

Qualifications

• Calm, patient and resourceful approach to supporting learners.
• Experience with young people or understanding of special needs is beneficial.
• Commitment to inclusive practice and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support to individuals or groups as directed by the lead teacher.
• Follow and implement the school's behaviour policies; support tests/exams as directed.
• Assist in maintaining classroom order and displays; help with learning activities as needed.
• Supervise children during the day, including off-site activities and visits.
