Job summary

TeacherActive Limited in Nottinghamshire is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support children with additional needs in a welcoming SEND provision. The role involves day-to-day supply with potential long-term opportunities, and it offers flexible hours to fit you.

You will work closely with teachers to encourage confidence, independence and learning, while upholding safeguarding standards and ensuring a positive, inclusive environment for each pupil.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Knowledge or experience of Autism and ADHD.
• A positive, patient and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• An understanding of positive behaviour support.
• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
• A good understanding of safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support as a SEND Teaching Assistant.
• Assist with activities promoting confidence, independence and learning.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and participate in safeguarding.
