Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting enthusiastic and experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to join a supportive specialist school in Ealing.

We are seeking individuals with prior experience working with children or young people with SEND, ideally with ASC, SLD, PMLD or complex needs. The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, assisting with personal care where required, and collaborating with teachers and therapists to create a nurturing learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Experience with ASC, SLD, PMLD or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and confident supporting pupils with different communication needs.
• Reliable and committed to a long-term, full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with Autism (ASC) and additional learning needs.
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support.
• Supporting pupils with communication and interaction difficulties.
• Helping pupils with their social, emotional and sensory needs.
• Using visual communication and individualised strategies where appropriate.
• Supporting positive behaviour and pupil engagement.
• Working closely with teachers, therapists and other SEND professionals.
• Assisting with personal care and physical needs where required.
• Creating a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment.
