Job summary

Supply Staff Ltd is seeking experienced 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistants to work across primary schools in Somerset. You will provide individual support to pupils with special educational needs, helping them access learning and build independence within the school environment.

The role requires previous experience with children in education, a focus on safeguarding, and an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in a school setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN is highly desirable.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupils with SEN and additional needs.
• Support pupils to access and engage with classroom learning.
• Assist with individual learning activities and differentiated work.
• Support communication, social development, confidence and independence.
• Help manage behaviour using appropriate strategies and school guidance.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
• Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to support individual pupil needs.
