Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Ormskirk. Immediate start.

The role involves supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition / ASC and other SEND needs across the primary age range, delivering tailored 1:1 and small group support, and helping pupils access the National Curriculum. The ideal candidate will have a relevant TA qualification (Level 2/3 desirable), strong communication skills, patience and a proactive approach to behaviour

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition / ASC in a primary school setting.
  • Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities / SEND within a primary school setting.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support where required.
  • Assist with classroom activities and implement individual learning strategies.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
