Job summary

Value Education LTD is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs across KS1 and KS2 in Tameside schools. You will work 1:1, in small groups, and in-class to help learners access learning, build confidence and social skills within a nurturing environment.

This role is term-time only, full-time, with a long-term pathway and a temp-to-perm option after 12 weeks. A Level 2 SEND qualification or equivalent and strong safeguarding awareness are desirable, with

Qualifications

• Level 2 or above SEND qualification or equivalent.
• Experience supporting children with SEND in school or care.
• Strong communication, patience, empathy and behaviour-support skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding, child protection and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEND through 1:1 sessions, small groups and in-class support.
• Use EHCP or support plan strategies to meet individual needs.
• Assist with differentiated learning activities, sensory or therapeutic tasks.
• Encourage emotional regulation, communication and positive behaviour.
• Support teachers with planning and adapting resources for SEND learners.
• Ensure safeguarding, confidentiality and school policies are followed.
