Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a great school in the Weston-Super-Mare area. They are looking for someone to join their team for the start of the new academic year. As an SEND Teaching Assistant, you will support children with special needs on various levels of the autistic spectrum aged 16+. This role is for an immediate start and has the potential to become long-term following a successful trial.

Key Skills

• You must be comfortable working 1:1 within an SEND role or with children in small groups
• Demonstrate active listening skills and strong verbal communication skills
• Look after children's physical, social, and emotional welfare
• Handle complex and sensitive issues with empathy and understanding
• Be aware of safeguarding procedures to keep children safe at all times

Requirements

• Experience working with young people or SEND in any capacity
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to process a new one
• Residency within Weston-Super-Mare or a commutable distance
• Fluent English, both verbal and written
