Job summary

Clockwork Education have been approached by a welcoming school in Sunderland to recruit a part time SEND teaching assistant to support Key Stage 2 students. The role runs Monday to Friday, 8.30 - 12.30, from September 2026 and is on an ongoing basis.

The successful candidate will work one-to-one with SEND children, with some group sessions, requiring someone proactive who can lead sessions and use their initiative.

Qualifications

• Confidence and experience in one-to-one work with SEND children.
• Ability to support during lessons and lead small groups.
• Proactive and able to take the initiative.

Responsibilities

• Support a range of SEND pupils across Key Stage 2.
• Provide extra support during lessons.
• Work independently with individual pupils and small groups.
• Take initiative and lead group sessions.

Clockwork Education have been approached by a lovely, welcoming school in Sunderland to assist them in finding a part time SEND teaching assistant to support them across Key Stage 2.

The role is working Monday to Friday (8.30 - 12.30) to start September 2026 and will be on an ongoing basis.

The role is to work one to one with SEND children and some group work will be required - the school require someone who is proactive and is happy to lead group sessions.

Responsibilities

• Supporting a range of children child with SEND needs
• Extra support during lessons
• Working independently with one child and small groups
• To use own initiative and take the lead

Requirements

• Confident and experienced in working with a child on a one to one basis
• Level 2 Qualification
• Provide 2 references, preferably from an educational background
• To hold or put in process an enhanced DBS disclosure
