Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the class teacher, SENDCo and support staff
• Support communication, engagement and independence for the pupil
• Foster a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment
• Monitor progress and give feedback to staff

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a large and inclusive all-through school in Enfield for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with severe additional needs.

Duties as SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 6 with severe additional needs
• Support the pupil in accessing learning and classroom activities
• Implement individual support strategies in line with EHCP targets and school guidance
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and wider support staff
• Support the pupil's communication, engagement, and independence
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to staff
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Previous SEND experience is essential
• Experience supporting pupils with complex or severe needs is highly desirable
• Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to remain calm and proactive in challenging situations
• Experience working on a 1:1 basis would be advantageous
