Job summary

Aston Education is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a Sixth Form College near Victoria station in Central London. You will work with 16–19-year-olds needing additional support to reach their full potential, joining a Good/Outstanding-leaning setting with strong industry links.

Responsibilities include creating an inclusive learning environment, supporting EHCP/LP development, and assisting in exams as reader or scribe.

Actual Annual Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 (actual)

Contract: Permanent, full-time, term time only, Monday to Friday 8:45am to 4:45pm

Aston Education is looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA) to join this Sixth Form College near Victoria station in Central London. Their Ofsted is Good with Outstanding features.

As a SEND TA, you will work closely with 16-19-year-old students who require additional support to reach their full potential.

The SEND Teaching Assistantjob

• As a SEND Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to create a positive and inclusive learning environment while providing one-on-one or small group support to students with SEND.
• You’ll assist in developing and implementing EHCP/LP, ensuring students receive the appropriate support and interventions. You’ll work as part of the SEND safeguarding team.
• You will assist with classroom activities, monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with other professionals. You’ll also support students in exams as a reader or scribe.

Qualifications & Experience required include:

• Experience working with students with specific learning difficulties (e.g., ASC, dyslexia, ADHD) or disabilities
• Experience supporting learners in a further education/sixth form setting
• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above
• Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent)
• Training related to SEN
• Degree or HE qualification in Computer Science or Maths is desirable
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
