Job summary

Step Teachers is recruiting SEND teachers for long-term supply across Ely and surrounding areas, starting as soon as possible. You will support pupils with a range of needs in mainstream and specialist provisions, helping to create inclusive and engaging learning environments.

Role requires QTS and experience with SEND, with strong differentiation and classroom management, and you must be flexible, reliable, and willing to work across different schools.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching pupils with SEND in mainstream or specialist settings.
• Strong ability to differentiate and use inclusive teaching strategies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching to pupils with SEND across multiple schools.
• Adapt lessons to meet individual EHCP targets.
• Collaborate with support staff and SENCOs to plan provision.
• Maintain a safe, supportive classroom environment.
• Provide feedback and support pupil progress reviews.
• Uphold safeguarding and behaviour policies.

You’ll be supporting pupils with a range of additional needs in mainstream and specialist provisions, helping to create inclusive and engaging learning environments.

Duties as SEND Teacher:

• Deliver high-quality teaching and learning to pupils with SEND across various schools
• Adapt lessons to meet individual needs and EHCP targets
• Collaborate with support staff and SENCOs to ensure effective provision
• Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment
• Provide feedback and contribute to pupil progress reviews
• Uphold safeguarding and behaviour policies consistently

Ideal SEND Teacher:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience working with children with SEND in mainstream or specialist settings
• Strong understanding of differentiation and inclusive teaching strategies
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills as a SEND Teacher
• Flexible, reliable, and confident working across different schools
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
