Job summary

New Directions Group in Knowsley/Huyton area is seeking a passionate SEND Teacher to join a supportive school community. You will plan engaging, differentiated lessons to meet individual needs and build positive relationships so every learner can progress and feel valued.

You will work within a dedicated SEND environment, collaborating with teaching assistants, SENCOs and parents to support pupil progress, wellbeing and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching pupils with SEND is desirable.
• Inclusive teaching practices and differentiation are essential.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A patient, compassionate and flexible approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the needs of pupils with SEND.
• Adapt teaching strategies and resources to support differing learning needs and abilities.
• Create and maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
• Monitor, assess and track pupil progress effectively.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists and parents/carers.
