Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a qualified SEND Teacher to join our ARP provision in Hemel Hempstead from September 2026. You will teach small groups of pupils with EHCPs in KS1 and KS2, delivering tailored lessons in a supportive, specialist environment.

Responsibilities include planning differentiated lessons, collaborating with support staff and families, and occasionally assisting with personal care. The role offers a temporary to permanent contract and a competitive MPS/UPS salary with SEN

Qualifications

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential).
  • Has experience teaching children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Is passionate about inclusive education and achieving the best outcomes for every child.
  • Can deliver creative, engaging and highly differentiated lessons.
  • Has a patient, caring and nurturing approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
  • Is adaptable, resilient and able to respond to the varying needs of children.
  • Enjoys creating hands‑on, interactive learning opportunities that promote engagement and independence.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils with a range of additional needs.
  • Work closely with support staff, therapists and families to support pupils academically, socially and emotionally.
  • Create a calm, structured and nurturing classroom where children feel safe and valued.
  • Support pupils with personal care as part of responsibilities.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues and contribute to a collaborative team.
