Job summary

Aspire People are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant for specialist schools in Wolverhampton. The role is full-time and immediate, involving support for pupils with SEN, SEMH needs, Autism and other complex learning requirements.

You will be expected to remain calm under pressure, establish clear boundaries and build trusting relationships to help pupils regulate emotions and engage in learning. Relevant Level 2/3 TA or Level 3 Health & Social Care qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Level 2/3 TA qualification or Level 3 Health & Social Care is required.
• Experience working with children or young people.
• Understanding of SEND and/or challenging behaviour.
• Confident and consistent approach with pupils.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to pupils with additional needs in line with school plans.
• Assist with behaviour management and emotion regulation strategies.
• Support inclusive teaching and small-group/helpful one-to-one sessions as directed by the class teacher.

Aspire People are seeking SEN Teaching Assistants for specialist schools in Wolverhampton. These settings require staff who are confident supporting pupils who may present with challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, Autism and other complex learning needs.

The successful candidates will be able to remain calm under pressure, establish clear boundaries and build trusting relationships with pupils who may need additional support to regulate their emotions and engage in education.

Essential:

• Level 2/3 TA qualification OR Level 3 Health & Social Care
• Experience working with children or young people
• Understanding of SEND and/or challenging behaviour
• Confident and consistent approach
• Reliable and available for full-time work

Experience from residential care, youth work, sports coaching, security, education or other people-focused environments may also be relevant alongside the required qualification.
