Job summary

Shropshire Council is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant Level 1 to join Bishop Hooper Church of England Primary School in Ashford Carbonel. This fixed-term, term-time role is 15 hours per week (Mon to Fri, 9am - 12pm) at £13.92 per hour, SCP 6.

The post is until 31 July 2027 in the first instance. The successful candidate will work across the school, delivering literacy and numeracy interventions for pupils with special educational needs, supporting classroom staff, and contributing to

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children with special educational needs.
• Deliver literacy interventions for pupils with SEN.
• Deliver numeracy interventions for pupils with SEN.
• Willingness to undertake required training and development.
• Paediatric first aid certificate would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver literacy and numeracy interventions to pupils across the school.
• Support pupils with special educational needs in class and on occasions across the school.
• Assist with training and safeguarding requirements as directed.
