Job summary

Five Education Recruitment Limited is seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with SEND in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire. The role focuses on Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and physical disabilities.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, adapt materials, and work with the SENDCo to implement strategies while promoting inclusion. A calm, nurturing approach and team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people with SEND, especially Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs.
• Calm, flexible and nurturing approach to supporting students with varied needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Right to work in the UK; two recent references; DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support in line with individual learning needs and EHCP targets.
• Adapt learning materials and classroom approaches to suit a variety of learning styles and developmental needs.
• Support students in developing communication skills, emotional regulation, confidence and independence.
• Work with teaching staff and SENDCo to implement effective support strategies and encourage progress.
• Promote a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment throughout the school day.
• Supervise students during break and lunch times, ensuring wellbeing and inclusion.
